New Short Story

I had a new short story accepted by FFP this week! It's title is Whipping Boy, and it's a fairy tale-esque fantasy about a young man chosen to befriend the crown prince of the kingdom of Dunn. The story details their growing relationship and the dark secrets that surround the prince, and the impact those secrets have on both their lives. Whipping Boy (15,600 words) Genre(s): Fantasy, Gay, BDSM Chris Edward was an average son from an average farmer's family before he was chosen -- by royal decree -- to befriend Ryan Tomolia, the solemn and enigmatic crown prince of Dunn. As Chris dutifully pursues their strange friendship, he begins to suspect that Ryan is haunted by a dark secret, one which has its roots sunk deep in the crown prince's past. Chris's situation is complicated by the gradual realization that his intended purpose is not only to serve as companion to the crown prince but also as his surrogate in the whipping yard, taking the punishment for Ryan's misdeeds. Will Chris find a way to come to terms with the resentment, pity, curiosity, and reluctant attraction he feels toward the crown prince, or will he allow the circumstances around them to command their fate?
