Just making a quick post to say how much I love this time of year. Cooler weather, earlier sunsets, and it just seems that people are all around more mellow as it grows closer to the holidays. It's also very conductive to curling up with a cup of hot tea and my laptop in the evenings and working on my current writing projects.
I've got a couple that I'm working on right now. One is about a college man who meets up with an artist and starts getting introduced to the world of BDSM, and the joys that being a willing sub to a caring dominant can bring. That one I'm rather fond of because it echoes some of my own experiences, and it's been fun exploring those emotions and discoveries through my fictional character's eyes.
The second is more of a fantasy genre that takes place in a pseudo-modern world where supernatural creatures and magic are fairly commonplace. My main character is a human struggling to make ends meet, who draws the attention of a demon. The demon is attracted to him for reasons that are revealed later on in the story, and feeds on his soul in increments as he has sex with him. The main character is seduced and repulsed by this creature in turns, as his self-destructive impulses make the fact that his soul is being slowly devoured both thrilling and terrifying. I've been having fun developing the concept of "magic" in this universe, not Harry Potter type magic but more hoodoo-like, with objects imbued with various kinds of power.
All in all, I think it's going to be a rather productive autumn for story writing!
