Contract for Nicholi's Vengeance
Oct. 7th, 2011 06:02 amI received the publishing contract for Nicholi's Vengeance yesterday. Woot! Now it's just a matter of signing it and sending it out.
Basically the story is about a young man whose country is invaded during a war, and he's captured and sold as a slave. He's driven by a need to take some kind of vengeance on the man he holds responsible for the destruction of his village, which motivates him as he struggles to adjust to the ordeals of slavery and somehow survive through all of it.
So far the initial response to the novel has been very positive. I'm curious to see how the story will change during the editing process. My editor is a genius at picking out those areas that can use expanding or clarifying, especially when I've gotten too close to the story to make those kinds of objective observations myself. I wish I could have had him beta-reading my fanfiction all these years....
